As structural and civil engineering consultants for the Bethanie Fremantle Aged Care Facility, currently under design by MJA, we are addressing several unique challenges to ensure the project’s success. This 5-storey building, constructed primarily with reinforced concrete, utilizes post-tensioned slabs to provide the necessary strength and stability while optimizing material use.

Given the limited size of the site, accommodating the various functions required on each floor has been a complex task. We have worked closely with MJA to minimize the need for structural transfers, ensuring a seamless integration of the building’s components. This collaboration is crucial in maintaining the integrity of the design while meeting the specific needs of an aged care facility.

In addition to structural engineering, we are also providing civil engineering services for the project. One of the key challenges we’ve encountered is the diversion of existing sewer lines. This aspect requires careful planning and execution to prevent any disruption to the facility’s operations and the surrounding area.

Overall, our involvement in the Bethanie Fremantle Aged Care Facility project showcases our expertise in both structural and civil engineering. We are committed to delivering a safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing environment for the residents, while navigating the complexities of the site and its requirements
