Perth Children’s Hospital

Hera Engineering was appointed by the main contractor to assist with the design of various steel structures to be incorporated in the new Perth Children’s Hospital. Our design had to comply with stringent hospital design requirements including remaining fully operable and safe in the event of a major earthquake or wind event.

In order to expedite the fabrication process, we provided our Client with a full 3D model to assist the shop detailing. All lifting points and crane lifting specifications were included as the majority of the steel was pre-assembled on ground and lifted into position. Our design had to take into consideration the temporary lifting stage which added another layer of complexity.
