In collaboration with Yolk Property Group and Henry Jenkins Architects, we are at the forefront of structural engineering for the Harbour Green Hub, a distinctive office development positioned in the vibrant heart of Fremantle. This pioneering project marks a significant milestone as one of Perth’s inaugural multi-storey mass timber constructions, showcasing our commitment to innovative and sustainable design.
Located at 12 Josephson St, Fremantle WA, the Harbour Green Hub is designed to be a green office space that prioritizes the well-being of its occupants. The six-storey building, under design, features a modern, high-performance glass facade and shading screens to optimize natural light while maintaining energy efficiency. Inside, the exposed timber elements foster a warm and inviting atmosphere that contributes to workplace well-being.
Our role in this project encompasses comprehensive structural engineering services, with a focus on integrating a multi-storey timber structure that utilizes a harmonious blend of precast boundary walls, gluelam beams, and Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT) slabs. This approach not only aligns with modern engineering practices but also highlights our dedication to environmental stewardship through the use of timber, a renewable resource known for its carbon-sequestering capabilities.
A key sustainability aspect of our work on this project is the incorporation of timber in the construction process. The use of mass timber construction not only reduces the carbon footprint associated with the building but also enhances the indoor environment for occupants, contributing to a healthier and more productive workspace.
The Harbour Green Hub is poised to become a landmark in sustainable office space in Western Australia, reflecting our expertise in structural engineering and our commitment to advancing sustainable construction practices.
