Hollywood Hospital South Block

Georgiou was awarded a $53 million contract by Ramsay Health Care in early 2020 to deliver Hollywood Private Hospital’s South Block and Administration Upgrade, designed by STH. The scope of work encompassed the design and construction of a new emergency department, three 30-bed wards, expansion of the existing radiology unit, and associated carpark.

For this expansion project, Hera Engineering undertook the facade engineering, collaborating closely with Silver Thomas Hanley (STH) and Georgiou. This project is notable for its complex lightweight facade across its multi-storey structure, addressing the design including secondary steel to accommodate the building’s architectural demands​​.

The facade’s lightweight design contributed to reducing the total weight of the building, resulting in lighter foundations and aligning with sustainability principles by minimizing material use and foundation impact.
