HBF Stadium upgrades

Hera Engineering played a pivotal role in the structural redesign of the new tunnel connecting the existing changeroom at the HBF stadium in Perth to the pitch for the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023.
When ADCO Construction, the builder, approached us with the incumbent engineers proposed design, we took a different approach by
developing a top-down construction methodology.

This innovative solution allowedus to preserve the existing roof, eliminate the need for piling, and achieve significant reductions in program duration, cost and risk.
The successful implementation of this approach exemplifies Hera Engineering’s proactive and forward-thinking mindset when tackling complex structural projects.

In addition to the structural redesign of the tunnel, Hera Engineering took responsibility for designing all the necessary temporary works to support the excavation in its temporary state.
Understanding the importance of maintaining safety and stability throughout the construction process, we meticulously planned and engineered the temporary support systems.
This comprehensive approach ensured that the excavation could proceed smoothly while guaranteeing the integrity of the surrounding structures.
