Holiday Inn Maroochydore

For the Holiday Inn project in Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast, our team provided crucial value engineering and structural engineering services. Located in the emerging Maroochydore CBD, this 7-storey hotel constructed in concrete is now a completed structure offering 181 guest rooms and suites, marking a significant addition to the local landscape​​​​​​.

A key aspect of our contribution was during the initial review phase for the tender, where we identified opportunities for substantial savings. Through an alternative design proposed by our team, we managed to reduce the foundation’s complexity by decreasing the number of piles required. This was achieved by employing advanced finite element analysis, resulting in savings of over $1M, which not only made the project feasible but also contributed to Icon winning the tender​​.
