Perth Concert hall

In our capacity as structural engineering specialists, we were tasked with a series of critical interventions on one of Western Australia’s most distinguished civic structures, the Perth Concert Hall. Our work focused on evaluating and enhancing the structural integrity and utility of the building’s podium slab through comprehensive load rating assessments. To address specific challenges, we devised various strengthening designs, incorporating advanced materials such as carbon fiber to fortify select slabs, thereby augmenting their load-bearing capabilities. These efforts were complemented by our detailed planning and execution of temporary works design, alongside the innovation of new permanent solutions aimed at preserving the venue’s architectural and historical essence.

Concurrently, the Perth Concert Hall is undergoing a significant revitalization to ensure its continued legacy as Western Australia’s premier music venue. This extensive redevelopment aims to preserve its world-class acoustic features and includes essential structural maintenance to honor its award-winning architectural design. Enhancements to artist and audience facilities, such as refurbished working areas and updated seating, alongside improvements to venue accessibility and the activation of its external spaces for community engagement, are central to the project.
