Mariner Cove

As structural engineers on the Mariners Cove development project, we were tasked with overcoming two significant challenges to ensure the structural integrity and efficiency of this $480-million luxury destination. First, we addressed the issue of designing long spans with limited head height. This required a careful balance between architectural aesthetics and structural feasibility. By optimizing post-tensioned slabs, we were able to achieve the desired spans without compromising the overall design or exceeding the head height constraints.

The second challenge involved constructing a multi-level basement in a waterfront location. This presented unique difficulties due to the proximity to water and the need for robust waterproofing and structural stability. Our team developed economical solutions that not only ensured the structural integrity of the basement levels but also minimized the impact on the surrounding marine environment.
