West Village

As structural engineering consultants, our involvement in the West Village project in Perth highlights our expertise in delivering complex structural solutions for high-end residential developments. West Village, a collaboration between Blackburne and MJA Studio, is positioned in the heart of Karrinyup, offering 253 luxury apartments across two distinct buildings. These buildings, one reaching 13 storeys and the other 23 storeys, are united by a podium that accommodates over 2750sqm of resort-style amenities and landscaped gardens, setting a new benchmark for luxury living.

Our work on this project includes the structural engineering of insitu cores and post-tensioned floors on a shared podium, demonstrating our commitment to innovative and sustainable engineering practises. The project’s architectural design, influenced by the surrounding coastal and bushland environment, features curved edges that soften its linear form, integrating seamlessly with the natural beauty of its location.

Sustainability is a cornerstone of the West Village development, aiming for a minimum of 7 Star NATHERS Rating and incorporating a range of environmentally conscious initiatives. These initiatives include a sustainability-driven passive design, efficient glazing, and thermal insulation to improve thermal stability, a 30% reduction in water use through water-efficient fixtures, a 40KwP solar PV array, infrastructure for electric vehicle charging points, and secure bicycle storage to encourage sustainable transportation.
