Our involvement in the Murcia residential project located in Brisbane entails providing structural engineering services for this dynamic development. This project is currently under construction and features a 22-storey, 73-meter high reinforced concrete structure including two towers—the larger at 22 storeys and the smaller at 15 storeys—rising from a shared podium and extending into four levels of challenging basement construction due to uneven ground conditions.
Our technical approach includes the use of a jump form system for constructing the core, implementing post-tensioned slabs, and integrating precast concrete columns to optimize structural integrity and efficiency. The Murcia project, developed by Sarazin in collaboration with Kris Kowalski Architects and Hutchinson Builders, represents a key addition to the Woolloongabba area, which is poised for significant growth spurred by developments like the 2032 Summer Olympics.
