Hera Engineering was appointed to undertake a peer review and value engineering of the existing structural design. Our alternative solution provided large cost-savings, particularly with the basement construction. We found opportunities to reduce slab thickness and reinforcement quantities resulting in material savings in excess of $100k. We also pushed for a change in the type of construct for the basement walls, which produced further savings of approximately $150k.
