We are providing structural engineering services for the 60 London Circuit development, a significant mixed-use project in Canberra’s central district. The project comprises two basement levels, a shared podium, and four towers housing office, residential, and hotel spaces. Our role includes ensuring the structural integrity and efficiency of the development while addressing its unique challenges.

The site’s proximity to the light rail required careful consideration of the basement design to accommodate and support the rail’s weight. This has involved advanced geotechnical analysis and detailed structural solutions to ensure durability and stability. The towers above the podium will feature post-tensioned slabs to optimize floor plate efficiency, in-situ jumped cores for faster vertical construction, and precast columns to streamline the construction process.

The structural framework has been designed to seamlessly integrate with a lightweight curtain wall façade, which ensures a high degree of architectural flexibility without compromising structural performance. Coordination between structural and façade systems is central to the project, minimizing material usage and achieving design objectives.

Our expertise in complex urban environments has been instrumental in shaping the project’s structural design, which prioritizes resilience and adaptability. With the project in the design phase, we continue to refine the solutions to align with the project’s requirements and constraints.
