We are currently undertaking the structural and civil engineering responsibilities for The Coolbinia, a residential development currently under design in Perth. This project, initiated by Willing Property with architectural design by MJA, comprises a 5-storey building that includes one level of basement.
The building’s design features a facade that is both highly architectural and complex, incorporating a mixture of precast elements and brickwork. These aesthetic choices pose unique challenges in terms of structural design and coordination and require precise engineering solutions. Our team is deploying traditional reinforced concrete for the main structural framework, with insitu concrete cores to provide necessary lateral stability. This approach not only meets the essential strength and durability requirements but also supports the intricate architectural elements of the facade.
Despite the project still being in the design phase, our efforts are geared towards creating a structurally sound and visually appealing building that harmoniously integrates with its surroundings and meets the expectations of both the developer and future residents. As we progress, our focus remains on the detailed coordination of structural elements to ensure a seamless transition from design to construction.
