We have been appointed by one of the largest developers in Australia, Geocon, for the re-design of the two tallest buildings of the Republic precinct which will stand unchallenged as Canberra’s highest towers.
The two 27-storey glass towers are 111 and 98 meters tall and are being designed by international architect Fender Katsalidis.
These are another two towers that we won not on fee but due to our expertise in value engineering and by providing a solution to our client that was more efficient than the original design. We saved more than 1,000 cubic meters of concrete, removed a complete level of transfer beams and simplified the existing transfer levels. Constructability has also been substantially improved. We are also providing detailed design of the post tensioned floors.
Hera Engineering was appointed for the re-design while the site excavation was occurring. We were able to re-design and coordinate in record time to suit the project schedule. This was achieved thanks to our engineering team that is well experienced with design of towers.
Our alternative construction methodology of the transfer levels allowed for the early hand over of the car park which made the project fesiable for the developer.
