In the heart of Brisbane, our latest venture, Upper House, exemplifies the convergence of architectural innovation and environmental responsibility. This residential project, located at 66 Hope Street, South Brisbane, stands tall with 33 storeys, housing 200 meticulously designed apartments. The construction, which commenced with an aim for completion by late 2022, is now a prominent feature of Brisbane’s skyline, offering a blend of luxury and sustainability to its residents.
Our involvement in Upper House focused on conducting a thorough peer review, ensuring the structural integrity and efficiency of this complex project. The building’s design, characterized by its high slenderness and a unique sloping facade, presented a challenge that we navigated with precision. This task was particularly demanding due to the project’s complex geometry, but it underscored our capability to manage and deliver on such intricate aspects of structural engineering.
A hallmark of Upper House is its commitment to sustainability, embodied in its Green Star status for utilizing low carbon materials and urban greening. The building’s facade features weaving timber, inspired by the native Moreton Bay Fig Tree, symbolizing our dedication to eco-friendly construction practices. More than 3,500 trees have been planted on-site to enhance the building’s breathability and environmental integration.
