In our collaborative endeavor, we took on the Victoria House project, a hallmark of innovative residential development located in the heart of Shenton Park. This $43 million venture, realized in partnership with Hesperia, MJA Studio, and PACT Construction, represents a significant contribution to the Montario Quarter precinct, blending the historic with the contemporary to create a vibrant, community-centric space.
The project features the integration of three new residential buildings—Ochre, Umber, and Siena—alongside the original heritage-listed Victoria House, constructed in 1938. These buildings collectively offer 81 apartments, ranging from one to three-bedroom configurations, each designed with a focus on sustainable living and modern comfort, while preserving the precinct’s historic essence. The choice of two high-quality interior designs reflects a commitment to both heritage and contemporary aesthetics, ensuring residents enjoy spaces that feel both timeless and innovative.
A key aspect of our work included the structural engineering, post-tension design, and temporary works necessary to bring this vision to life. Our approach prioritized the non-load-bearing design of the brickwall facade, a strategic decision aimed at accelerating construction timelines, reducing the building’s weight, and minimizing material usage, all while adhering to our sustainability ethos.
