Windfall Residences is a landmark mixed-use development in Port Coogee, Perth, WA, designed with a focus on sustainability, durability, and the coastal lifestyle. This project, in its design phase, features a seven-storey reinforced concrete frame with a steel roof, developed to accommodate 61 residential apartments across five floors along with a dedicated retail tenancy space.
Given its proximity to the ocean, the development prioritizes durability, utilizing high-strength concrete and increased reinforcement cover to withstand coastal conditions. A post-tension slab system and the AFS walling system are employed to enhance construction efficiency and reduce on-site labor.
Sustainability is at the forefront of Windfall Residences, aiming for a 5-Star Green Star rating, a reflection of its commitment to environmental responsibility and energy efficiency. This encompasses extensive water-saving initiatives, the use of renewable energy sources to reduce household energy bills, and a design that promises stronger investment returns through higher quality build and design. The development is designed to foster healthier communities, generate fewer greenhouse gas emissions, and provide a clear path towards achieving carbon neutrality.
Hera Engineering is proud to contribute its expertise in structural engineering and post-tensioned design to this project, working closely with Erben and MJA Studios to ensure an efficient structural system that meets client needs and achieves the targeted Green Star rating
