Our role in the redevelopment of St. Catherine’s College at the University of Western Australia involved comprehensive structural engineering services for both new and existing structures. We were tasked with designing a new student accommodation building, a 4-storey concrete building, which incorporated a mix of in-situ and precast elements for the columns and walls. This approach was instrumental in creating functional, durable, and aesthetically pleasing living spaces for students.

Additionally, we addressed the challenge of refurbishing an existing administration building, for which original drawings were unavailable. Our innovative solution included the integration of steel columns and carbon fiber reinforcement, ensuring structural integrity and extending the building’s useful life by 50 years. This project not only emphasized the reuse of existing infrastructure but also underscored our commitment to sustainable development practices within the educational sector.

Our work on this project showcases our expertise in handling complex structural engineering challenges, particularly in the context of educational facilities, and highlights our dedication to enhancing the built environment through innovative and sustainable design solution
