The building structure is close to topping out for the newly developed Claremont Medical Centre, a state-of-the-art healthcare facility within the Claremont on the Park precinct.
Developed by Australian Development Capital with DermCo Pty Ltd, designed by MJA Studio and being delivered by Georgiou, the approximately $57 million development will provide over 5,000 square metres of healthcare amenities, including pharmacy, pathology, urgent care, dermatology and specialist consulting services.
Hera Engineering is providing civil, structural and façade engineering services for the project. Throughout the design phase, Hera Engineering led a number of value engineering initiatives to improve constructability and reduce material use, including the removal of the basement, rationalisation of structural materials, optimisation of floor loading requirements, minimisation of roof penetrations and reduction of the steel structure supporting the roof plant. Challenging ground conditions required a piled foundation system with pile caps and a raft slab, while the superstructure was developed using reinforced concrete slabs with minimal transfer structure. As construction progresses, Hera continues to provide structural advice for tenancy fit-outs and the integration of specialist medical equipment.
Designed to operate with net zero carbon emissions, the development is located adjacent to Claremont Train Station and the heritage Claremont Goods Shed. Our façade approach supports the project’s sustainability objectives while responding to its prominent transport-oriented location and adjoining public plaza.
