Hera Wins Contract on Second Tallest High-Rise in Brisbane
The Hera Engineering team experienced the highlight of the company’s two-year history this week when Multiplex signed a contract with the Shayher Group for the construction of The One, an 82-storey, 262m tower which, once completed, will be the 10th tallest structure in Australia and the second tallest high rise in Brisbane.
Hera Engineering Director Matteo Tirapelle says the company didn’t win the coveted project by coming in with the lowest price. Rather, Hera provided the smartest structural design for the project, which allowed for substantial removal of concrete and reinforcement. These ample structure savings enabled Multiplex to be more competitive on its tender.
“Hera only began three-and-a-half years ago, so landing a project of this scale is mind-blowing,” admits Matteo. “However, it shows that in structural engineering, the pursuit of innovation is more critical and valuable than a known brand. Our team is constantly researching new and better ways to design, and winning this appointment is a clear example that we are on the right course.”
