Hera’s Solution Helps Win Busselton Admin Centre
Hera Engineering’s alternative structural system based on hollow core floor planks and semi-precast beams has been integral to BGC’s success in securing the new Busselton Administration Centre.
Working directly with the City of Busselton on the re-design, Hera utilised deep hollow core planks to achieve a clear span of 16m. This allowed the deletion of all internal columns, enabling greater flexibility for future change of fit out. The proposed precast system also removed most of the props from the projects, allowing for a quicker construction cycle.
Hera Engineering Director Matteo Tirapelle says that it’s this kind of innovative solution that is Hera Engineering’s point of difference in the industry.
“We specialise in creative solutions that can result in huge cost and time savings for major projects,” he explains. “More and more, we are being brought on board to rectify existing proposals, re-designing structural systems so they are more efficient and offer much greater value.”
