New Solution for 500 Hay Street

Hera Engineering has won a significant engineering proposal after esteemed firm Cooper & Oxley approached the new firm to provide an alternative structural system for a hotel and office structure.
Located at 500 Hay Street, the building was previously documented with a complex construction methodology but Hera was able to create a solution based on a complete reconfiguration of the system using structural steel and a bondek slab.
Director Matteo Tirapelle says that by changing the structural sizes for the plunges column for the top down construction, as well as the floor system and the main cores from concrete to structural steel, Hera was able to significantly lower costings and time on the project.
“We’re thrilled that Cooper & Oxley adopted Hera’s vision as the preferred solution for the structure and look forward to a long and successful working relationship with them going forward,” Matteo says.
