About James Georgiades
James Georgiades serves as the National Operations Manager at Hera Engineering, where he plays a pivotal role in overseeing projects, setting strategic directions, and managing quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC). With an impressive 18 years of experience, James has a strong educational background, holding a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree from the University of Western Australia (UWA).
Throughout his career, James has managed engineering offices across multiple states, delivering major building project designs and supervising structural, civil, and facade design projects with Tier 1 contractors. His extensive portfolio includes high-rise buildings, train stations, museums, schools, shopping centres, and infrastructure projects. Notably, he has overseen and delivered offshore oil and gas structures, managing everything from design to offshore installation and commissioning. James has also designed and managed ISO 9001 compliant quality management systems in both the building and oil and gas industries. His key projects include The One 300 George St, Queens Wharf, DGC Tower 2, One Subiaco, The Grove, Lakelands Train Station, Boola Bardip New Museum Perth, The Switch, Republic Stage 2, WOVA Apartments, Broome Paediatric Hospital, Ichtys Subsea Mid Depth Buoys, and Chevron Heave Compensation System.
James’s core skills encompass managing large multidisciplinary teams, construction engineering, temporary works, risk mitigation, value engineering, process improvement, and system development. Known for his strong communication and planning abilities, James is dedicated to driving change within the industry by promoting stringent QA/QC processes and delivering excellence in engineering projects. His vision is to continue showcasing Hera Engineering as a leader in structural, facade, and civil services in Australia, champion environmentally sustainable design by minimising materials on all projects, and provide strong leadership and mentorship to young engineers. Outside of work, James enjoys spending time with his family, playing sports such as soccer, AFL, cricket, and basketball, and playing the guitar.
