ABOUT SHAUN DIXON
Shaun Dixon is the Queensland State Manager with 23 years of experience in civil engineering. In his current role, he leads the Brisbane office and major projects, secures new work for the team and the wider Hera group, ensures client and collaborator satisfaction, and aims to grow the Hera name into diverse market sectors. Shaun holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (BSc (Civ) Eng) from the University of Natal.
Throughout his career, Shaun has held significant roles and responsibilities, including leading multidisciplinary teams on large-scale, complex projects in various countries. He has successfully led business units to ensure financial success, staffing, and strategic direction, as well as spearheaded market sectors to establish growth strategies in new geographies. His key projects span multiple market sectors, with core experience in high-rise residential and commercial towers, light industrial warehousing and distribution centres, data centres, and large mixed-use projects. Shaun’s expertise includes structural, civil, and façade engineering, sustainable design solutions, precinct master-planning, and digital solutions using automation and data. He was awarded the Fultons Concrete Award for his work on the Pearls of Umhlanga.
Outside of his professional life, Shaun has a keen interest in sports and fitness, particularly cycling and mountain biking, and enjoys horticulture. He is actively involved in the community as a member of the UKZN Advisory Board and serves as an external examiner for final-year students. Shaun always strives for technical excellence, ensuring a quality and satisfied client and collaborator network, and fostering a happy and engaged team.
