The One (300 George Street)

“The One” at 300 George Street in Brisbane represents a milestone in our journey of delivering high-value engineering solutions. Located in the heart of Brisbane, this residential tower reaches an architectural height of 264 meters (866 feet) and comprises 82 floors, making it one of the tallest structures in the city. The project, completed in 2021, stands as a significant addition to Brisbane’s skyline, matched only by Brisbane Skytower in terms of height within the city’s CBD​​​​.

Our role in this project encompassed a suite of engineering services including value engineering, structural engineering, temporary works, and post-tension design. Our innovative approach to value engineering was instrumental in reimagining the project’s design, which led to a substantial reduction in construction time by six months. This optimization resulted in the elimination of approximately 6,500 cubic meters of concrete, equating to 1,050 fewer concrete truck movements on the streets, and a reduction of 1,080 tons of reinforcement, significantly minimizing the project’s environmental footprint​​.

The structure’s design features an all-concrete construction, which not only contributes to the building’s impressive stature but also underscores our commitment to sustainable building practices. The project includes 428 residential apartments, providing a significant boost to the city’s housing supply. Additionally, the building is equipped with modern amenities, ensuring a high quality of life for its residents​​.
