1 Richardson Street, currently under construction, showcases our commitment to structural engineering excellence, post-tensioned design, and temporary works, addressing the unique challenges posed by previously halted construction.

After a hiatus of five years, we were appointed to resume work on the existing structure. A critical aspect of our involvement was ensuring compliance with the new earthquake code, which the original structure did not meet due to change in legislation while the project was on hold. Our team successfully implemented strengthening works, a task made complex by the need to keep costs manageable to ensure the project’s viability. This was achieved without compromising on safety or structural integrity.

Moreover, the original design for the office component was envisioned in structural steel. In a strategic shift, we adapted this to a concrete post-tension design, enhancing the project’s efficiency and feasibility. This necessitated a thorough evaluation of the existing piles to confirm their capacity to support the revised structural loads, an undertaking that underscores our expertise in advanced structural analysis and adaptation to project-specific requirements.

The sustainability aspect of this project is underscored by the reuse of the existing structure, reflecting our dedication to environmental stewardship and efficient resource utilization. This approach not only mitigates the environmental impact associated with new constructions but also demonstrates our capability in integrating sustainability with structural engineering solutions.

1 Richardson Street is set to become an iconic presence in South Perth, offering 70 luxury apartments and nearly 6,000 square meters of A-grade office space, designed to provide expansive river views and ample natural light​​​​​​​​.
