The Switch: the tallest residential tower in WA is expected to be delivered by the end of 2021
All suspended slabs at The Switch student accommodation are now completed. Full project completion is expected by the end of 2021.
This pencil tower is now the tallest residential structure in Western Australia rising 125m over 40 levels.
The project is the result of the collaboration between Hera Engineering and MJA studio. We have achieved a very cost-efficient structural system which is made of a central core and external precast wall. Even though the structure is slender, our clever design has allowed for the removal of an expensive roof damper. Slab has been designed using traditional reinforced concrete. Moreover, we did not make use of post tensioning since they were not efficient for this building.
Hera engineering is very proud to deliver this project within budget and program resulting in a great success for the client.
