WA Museum Boola Bardip has been shortlisted in the Australian Institute of Architects 2021 National Architecture Awards in two different categories: Public Architecture and Urban Design.
The 57 exclusive projects have been selected by a jury from more than 800 entries across the nation. The winners will be announced in a virtual ceremony to be live streamed on 4th of November.
Through a careful design of an existing structure into a renovated concept, architects Hassell and OMA have delivered a civic precinct that is uniquely Western Australian. The museum is an extension rather than a standalone project, encompassing the north-east corner of the “cultural centre”.
This $400 million state government-funded project, is one of the most significant museum redevelopments in the world today. It is at the forefront of innovation, sustainability and flexibility for engineering.
We are extremely proud to have worked with Multiplex and international architecture firms OMA and Hassell to deliver the design for all the various facade elements including all the secondary steel.
Good luck to WA Museum Boola Bardip for these Awards Nominations!
